Westerly Morris Men's Past Public Events in 2020

Vernal Equinox at Lantern Hill - Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Dawn
COVID-19 and heavy rain kept away most people. The rain made the trail simply too slippery to climb, so the performance was a road show. There were nearly as many musicians as dancers, those being Peter Leibert, our founder and squire, regular team musician Mayada Wadsworth, and new musician A.J. Wright, who also happens to be a chantyman at Mystic Seaport, where she is the new director of the Sea Music Festival. The dancers were Tim Groome, his son Alex, and Frederick Rivard, along with Katrina Bercaw of Mystic Garland.
The Beltane Celebration at Life in Balance Center in Greene, RI, was scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2020,
but was CANCELLED due to the pandemic.
May Day - Friday, May 1, 2020, at Dawn (5:45 AM in New London, CT)
Due to the pandemic, this was a virtual event scattered over 2 states. Being a virtual event, the changed logistics made it possible for more Morris teams to be invited to take part, which several did. See the entire web page dedicated to this Virtual May Day.

Saturday, June 20, 2020 - Wilcox Park in Westerly - The Westerly Summer Pops, during which the WMM were to perform in the Pre-Show, was officially CANCELLED, however, intrepid dancer Allen Lawton appeared on time at the appointed location to do a performance of jigs to tunes played by our stalwart musician Mayada Wadsworth, under the watchful eye of WMM uber-fan and Chorus singer Wendy Zecchino. So Summer Pops happened, it was just very, very small!

Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night at Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, RI - Was scheduled for its second year at new location The Windjammer, then was rescheduled for the Misquamicut Drive-In. Ultimately, it was CANCELLED due to the pandemic.
